This report summarizes progress for projects related to oil sands mining reclamation research of the Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA) Land Environmental Priority Area (EPA).
These research projects focus on instrumented watersheds, wetlands, compensation lakes and aquatics, soils and reclamation materials, revegetation techniques, wildlife research and monitoring, and environmental research and monitoring. Each report includes a summary with project objectives, progress and achievements as of 2018 and lessons learned for the site.
These projects were developed in collaboration with various research providers and industry collaborators. Please contact the Industry Champion identified under each research project if any additional information is needed. Though many of these projects are in their final year of completion, updated reports for current and ongoing projects can be found in later editions of the COSIA Land EPA Mine Reclamation Research Report.
