The 'Boreal Caribou Habitat Restoration Practices: Application and Outcomes' report provides a review of habitat restoration actions taken to date and their outcomes. Learnings from these restoration projects can be used by jurisdictions, Indigenous communities, industry and other groups in the planning and delivery of restoration programs. The purpose of this report is to present these actions and outcomes in relation to the pathways described in the Boreal Caribou Ecological Model, and to recommend best practices and opportunities for further development and research. This report was developed as part of a package of tools developed by the HRWG (see below) to support federal, provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous rights holders, communities and organizations, academics, industry and environmental non-governmental organizations to facilitate knowledge sharing from past work, to generate new knowledge by purposely developing hypotheses and testing predictions regarding biological responses to management actions, and to communicate restoration priorities, in order to support boreal caribou conservation and recovery.
