At the 14th North American Caribou Workshop held in September 2012, John Mameamskum presented observations from the Naskapi First Nation of Kawawachikamach, who are dependent on caribou for their livelihood. Changes in climate, environment, and caribou behaviour have been observed. Priority adaptation strategies are discussed, as well as how traditional knowledge can inform adaptive management. John Mameamskum is Director General/Band Secretary of the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach.
