Native plant advocate Blake McNeill shares some of the innovative salvage projects the group has undertaken to rescue native flowers and grasses from roadways and development sites prior to demolition.
There is no doubt that native plants in Alberta are under very severe threat, and some of the methods used to support Alberta’s native plants aren’t effective. We can no longer just think about saving native plants, we now must take a very active and hands-on role if we want to save them. The acceptance of this harsh reality allows us to reassess some of our relationships with what might have been considered one-time adversaries and discover that we do share some common objectives, and by merging our different skill sets, we can form powerful alliances to help preserve native plants in Alberta.

This webinar is part of the ANPC's  Under Pressure: Threats to Alberta’s Native Plant Communities series.
